The Vent Haven ConVENTion is held near Fort Mitchell, KY because it is the home of the Vent Haven Museum. It is the only museum of it’s kind and preserves the history of our art. Funds raised by the conVENTion support the museum.
If you’ve never been to the museum before, take a look at this short video:
Currently in Kentucky we are in the midst of the Vent Haven Raffle. This is another chance for vents to support the museum and have fun.
If you are enjoying the HomeVENTion, I encourage you to provide a show of support for the museum. Even a small donation of $5, $10, $20 or $25 would help preserve our history. To donate – go to the Vent Haven Museum web site and click the donate now button. It is a tax deductible donation and the Museum appreciates your support!
I can not wait for next year to finally go to the ConVENTion but also to see the museum!
Great little movie. I am glad to see these famous puppets preserved, although it must be a bit unsettling to see them not moving or talking as that is how we normally see them. Anyone ever been there and found that? Or is it good to be there and just soak up the history?
Some people have found it unsettling, but most find it an amazing experience. They had special displays for Bob Ladd and Bill DeMar – both passed away this last year. Bill’s will not be a permanent part of the collection so you would have had to been there. It was very cool seeing Feldon Frog on display. As long as I have been friends with Bill, I had never seen that character in person.
