Tom you are doing a great job. I enjoy the interviews have you done jimmy Nelson yet? Wille Tyler would be great. The tips by the pros are great to. How about interviewing the figure makers, Conrad, tin, or even jet, that would be interesting. You could even do a interview with some of the characters. I personally would love to see a interview with Dangerous, I am sure he has an interesting out look on this profession.
Great suggestions Chuck! Thanks!
Tom I have really enjoyed your vent course and everything else that you have linked, including this blog. I would like to see more on the subject of bringing a puppet to life and making it real. It is as important as ventriloquism itself (my opinion) to bringing the whole show together. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’m sure there are more people wanting to know more on the subject. I also second Chucks comments, it be good to see Dangerous.
Cheers,
Ian
Tom– i closely follow all of your work, courses, etc.. I find them ALL very valuable. The interviews are wonderful and I re-listen to them every once in a while. It might be good to hear from more script and dialogue writers. Your script writing class is great and I learned a lot from it. I would like to hear from: Liz Vonsegan about voice production, vents that use specifically soft puppets, vents that use low cost talking props like Clinton used to use, the next generation of vents like Megan Casey of Rocky Mountain Puppets, from someone that can glue two eyes on a sock and have the audience rolling on the floor ,and from young kids that are just getting started learning and are ver enthusiastic about the art. It would be a real gift to the profession if you tap into the youth and their enthusiasm so that we do not get a low point of national performers like we had in the ’70’s and 80’s.
I hope this helps
How about Judy Buch?? Shes pretty talented…
All great suggestions. I appreciate the insights and will see what I can do! Thank you!
