Originally at this time, we were supposed to sit down and talk with Peter Pullon. However things change. First, Jeff Dunham needed to change dates for his lecture. So at this time, we are actually sitting down to hear about Jeff’s latest news and to learn from him.
The Peter Pullon interview was moved to Thursday. Then, Peter had to undergo a medical procedure and his doctor advised he not make the long trek to the United States. So Peter’s interview had to be cancelled.
In keeping with the Build Your Show Theme of this year’s conVENTion, Mark Wade invited me to host a round panel discussion on “Markets For Your Ventriloquist Show” (working title as I write this.) I will moderate a panel consisting of Mark Wade, Ken Groves, Liz Von Seggen and one other ventriloquist (TBA). We will share insights into the variety of different markets we work and concepts for creating shows for these markets.
Because time was too short to create a post in that regards, I have decided to keep Peter’s original interview post here – so please enjoy!

Peter Pullon is next from the U.K. Not familiar with Peter? He is a prolific sculptor who has created characters for many well known ventriloquists.
Enjoy this clip from his studio:
Not long ago, Colin Dymond interviewed Peter for the International Ventriloquist Society’s Spotlight Newsletter. If you are a member, log into the IVS Members area at MaherStudios.com and see if you can find the video. It will be under the U.K. Report. That interview is worth watching again!

You can also learn more about Peter by visiting his web site.
Following Peter’s lecture, we will be headed out to grab dinner before the big International show tonight.
I’m wondering if at some point the panel you guys are doing (“Markets for Your Ventriloquist Show”) would be available as an audio purchase? I’d certainly be interested in that.

I envy all the figure makers. To have the skill and vision to be able to think about and then create a puppet or figure is just awesome!
That panel discussion sure sounds interesting !
Anna – The panel discussion was very eye-opening for many who attended. Lots of great information, plus, I actually had hair! (Photos may follow…)
Jeff’s lecture was also a ton of fun. We got a sneak look at something top secret, the news that his new special will be on a major network and that he’ll have a new Comedy Central special airing this November. He even gave us a peek at what will be on the specials – but we were asked to keep it under wraps. (Another perk of attending the conVENTion!)
Everybody – start saving and come out here next year!
I am saving Tom and will be there for the first time next year.
