what what uh is your main character
right now what do you So So I have I
have two and these are both puppets that
I’ve made and this is uh this is Mo
and uh Mo has a crazy high pitched voice
and he’s uh he’s a lot like Elmo yeah
um you know just always happy very
energetic um and uh he’s the one that
the kids like the most he’s um I don’t
know he’s just you know he’s he’s always
smiling and laughing and doing this kind
of stuff and he’s he’s a lot of fun
that’s a lot of personality so where did
you learn to make puppets
so well I um
I wanted to um I wanted to obviously
have something other than the uh the
little things that I got for my kid a
couple years ago um and I’m I’m not I
was not about to uh tell the wife that
after spending $100 on an online course
that I was going to spend $400 for a
puppet um so uh I ended up um finding um
uh
okay and um I just got one of their
their I mean I their plans were like 25
bucks or something and I spent about $10
in materials and about 24 hours of my
time trying to put it together um so he
was he was one and then I’ve got another
one that I also made which I always like
um uh Jeff Dunham’s uh um the old man um
Walter uh I’m sorry Walter walter ab
absolutely um and I and I and I really
liked him so I made an old man um kind
of kind of in uh that character and he’s
got the little kind of rusty dice like
that um but um I I have a hard time
getting this guy to relate with the kids
yeah um especially since I have Walter
in my mind and I want him to be you know
kind of like grumpy and argumentative
and everything but it just doesn’t work
with the kids at least I haven’t gotten
it to so I’m I’m I’m in the process of
trying to uh figure out how to uh how to
get this guy to to fit in i don’t know
so well it it’ll it’ll be a learning
process and you’ll enjoy every second of
it that’s the key just keep having fun
with it keep playing keep experimenting
that’s what we do you know I’m at home
and um so so I said I’m a um a piano
tuner but um during the day I I I’m the
stay-at-home dad so um I’ve got the kids
while my wife’s at work until about 3:00
or 4 in the afternoon then I get to go
out in the evening and tune a piano or
two but um but yeah so I’m at home all
day with the two-year-old and you know
he’s like he wakes up and he’s like mom
he’s like he just wants to get the
puppet down off the shelf and um so it’s
a it’s a lot of fun i mean what um what
I do a lot with them is I like to uh
read stories and and have them either
read the story themselves or comment
throughout the story and um that’s he he
loves that i can’t I can’t he can’t pull
a a book a book down and without saying
I want Mo to read it or I want Grahams
to read it it’s it’s really funny that’s
great that’s great and you will come up
with so much material in that situation
i mean Yeah it’s it’s funny you know
because and and it just happens very
spur of the moment where you know I’ll
read one thing and and he’ll he’ll
notice something that I would would
never have thought of ordinarily if I
didn’t have somebody else looking down
at me so
