and Nina one of the sweetest women
you’ll meet um re is so attracted to
Nina uh not just that she’s an attracted
woman but reason I’m so attracted to her
as as a mine again my biggest problem is
separating the puppet from me my
expressions from the puppet’s expressions and she has I mean either
with her grandmother or with monk either
one they are totally separate different
individuals you know and and there’s not
the sense of of it’s just kind of like
she’s there because she’ll laugh at
their jokes and she’ll get embarrassed
by what they say but it looks like she’s
really embarrassed I know it’s not it’s
all act but she’s very good at that and
that that sells it yeah and that’s I’ve
been studying that too trying to figure
out how can how to incorporate that good
into it that that’s an excellent point
to study um she was at ven Haven one
year and on a round table discussion mhm
she said that uh Monk Is that little
voice inside of her head that little
voice inside of her head that’s always
telling her she’s not good enough and uh
if an audience member says something
monk will agree with
them when you start out so so so she she
has a very defined character there and
um and that’s really something that a
lot of ventriloquist lack they don’t
that’s what I want with Farley see I see
now Farley whereas my I’d be more
conversational I can see myself be more
conversation with with Floyd because
he’s old and you know just ask him a
question he’ll go off on something come
back but with Farley I see Farley um
more on the edge more you know talking
to the audience and insulting them at
times and insulting me at times and just
doing a lot of different things that
same kind of Monk character this the
whereas Farley is more like for Nina be
more like the grandmother character
where he talk she you know they talk the
stories but it’s not he not she’s not
really directed toward the audience
whereas stct to the audience M and I see
far directed toward the audience so I
just got to get a voice I can hear him
talk keep keep playing with it you will
find it and and if you don’t don’t you
know keep in mind uh I’ve had I’ve got
numerous puppets and Trunks out back uh
that uh never see the light of day
because I love them they’re great
puppets but I just never could develop
the character for them and if they’re
not right they’re not right no um so you
know but work with it don’t give it up
yet well I’m not I’m not gonna give it
up do that character profile and uh and
keep playing with a voice and you’ll
find something that you like it’s it’s a
matter of time to sit around and play
with them it really is it really is
really
is I’ve really enjoyed this I’m really
happy I’m really honored I’m honored
that you that you that I’m your first
guy
she I’m just you’re my first guy that
doesn’t sound right you may want to add
that out
