have you been to the ventriloquist
convention no no again this I’ve just
picked this thing up in the last oh six
months or so after after six months ago
I I mean I’ve been trism I was
interested in but I wasn’t that
interested in you know and so now I find
myself doing it so yeah so your goat
just started talking then recently yes
as a matter as a matter of fact yes I’ve
got two puppets I’ve got the world’s
oldest man the AEL puppet okay you
know yeah his voice is not like heing it
works out real well I had his I had his
voice for everybody I knew who he was I
know this puppet I know this guy Farley
I have never been able to find a voice
for him that I’m comfortable with and
that’s my biggest problem because you
know as you know
vrism you you hear the voices in your
head you hear them talking to you I mean
schizophrenic but you hear him talking
to you no one else okay but
anyway but uh I don’t hear a voice for
him I hear a voice for Floyd and so it’s
hard for me to come up with a joke or a
comeback or or even an idea of much with
him and he’s a cute puppet he’s a great
puppet I’ve got him I can show him to if
you want to see him okay this this is
Farley I don’t know if you can see up
yeah yeah okay see he’s got the hand in
the pocket for a little attitude like
sunglasses you know he was a goat puppet
or a sheep puppet that I put put the
goatee on the
horns
and if you’ve seen our video or if
you’ve seen our web page you’ve seen our
outfits they look almost identical to
this yeah I was going to say he does
look like your zoot suits because I I
was I checked out your website before I
called you I wanted to see what you were
doing yeah and so and so with the the
problem is I really don’t have a voice
for him MH and so we
now with with Floyd that’s my other one
the old man with Floyd I can put him on
my arm or I can put him on I can cam
around whatever and I can do the wall
talking you were talking about before
that what you call Wall talking talking
to the walls uh well talking the room
yeah talking the room yeah talking the
room I can do that with him okay with
him it’s I mean at one moment he’s up
like this next like this I just don’t
have a voice for him and so uh I don’t
know what a good voice would be for him
this so he’s kind of low and breathy
yeah and so I’m thinking something like
a higher voice might work out better for
him I don’t know yeah um I don’t know
looking at him right off I I kind of
picture Ray Charles yeah he’s kind of
got those glasses on he’s got that you
know yeah got that Ray Charles attitude
yeah man or Stevie Wonder You know want
to go with a higher voice yeah now then
the voice I’ve been using is this one
this one right here and it works it’s
kind of grally you know and kind of it’s
kind of cool you know but it’s hard to
maintain at times yes plus my own voice
is here so so if I’m talking if I get
away from the action brother show and
start doing on my own my voice is here
it is here not a whole lot of difference
and voice voice is here so it’s all kind
of lower register yeah yeah but this
voice here doesn’t sound good at all he
just sounds kind of you might be able to
raise it and give it a little bit more
gravel I mean when I do d I kind of um
he’s got kind of a you know you got that
it just draws it back in the throat a
little bit more and uh it’s like hi
there my name’s Dangerous Dudley Duck and
so it’s kind of a you know you kind of
add that little twang into it and uh
there’s little variations you can do
that will really set it apart from your
own voice okay well that’s one that’s my
project for the for the next one until I
can figure it out my project is to try
and come up a voice for him I can I’ve
written scripts I’ve written scripts for
Floyd I’ve got a 20-minute piece I’ve
done for Floyd Great haven’t got squat
for him and I’ve had him for a lot
longer
